2025-03-21usb: dwc3: gadget: Fix match_ep callback for NXP UUU toolMarek Vasut
The UUU tool excepts the interrupt-in endpoint to be ep1in, otherwise it crashes. This is a result of the previous hard-coded EP setup in drivers/usb/gadget/epautoconf.c which did special-case EP allocation for SPL builds, and which was since converted to this callback, but without the special-case EP allocation in SPL part. This reinstates the SPL part in an isolated manner, only for NXP iMX SoCs, only for SPL builds, and only for the ep1in interrupt-in endpoint. 2024-12-13usb: dwc3-generic: set "mode" based on caller of dwc3_generic_probe()Siddharth Vadapalli
There are only two callers of "dwc3_generic_probe()", namely: 1. dwc3_generic_peripheral_probe() 2. dwc3_generic_host_probe() Currently, the "mode" is set based on the device-tree node of the platform device. Also, the DWC3 core doesn't support updating the "mode" dynamically at runtime if it is set to "OTG", i.e. "OTG" is treated as a separate mode in itself, rather than being treated as a mode which should eventually lead to "host"/"peripheral". Given that the callers of "dwc3_generic_probe()" clarify the expected "mode" of the USB Controller, use that "mode" instead of the one specified in the device-tree. This shall allow the USB Controller to function both as a "Host" and as a "Peripheral" when the "mode" is "otg" in the device-tree, based on the caller of "dwc3_generic_probe()". On Qualcomm systems, the setup buffer and even buffers are in a bad state at interrupt handling, so invalidate the dcache lines for the setup_buf and event buffer to make sure we read correct data written by the hardware. 2024-10-11Merge patch series "Tidy up use of 'SPL' and CONFIG_SPL_BUILD"Tom Rini
Simon Glass <[email protected]> says: When the SPL build-phase was first created it was designed to solve a particular problem (the need to init SDRAM so that U-Boot proper could be loaded). It has since expanded to become an important part of U-Boot, with three phases now present: TPL, VPL and SPL Due to this history, the term 'SPL' is used to mean both a particular phase (the one before U-Boot proper) and all the non-proper phases. This has become confusing. For a similar reason CONFIG_SPL_BUILD is set to 'y' for all 'SPL' phases, not just SPL. So code which can only be compiled for actual SPL, for example, must use something like this: #if defined(CONFIG_SPL_BUILD) && !defined(CONFIG_TPL_BUILD) In Makefiles we have similar issues. SPL_ has been used as a variable which expands to either SPL_ or nothing, to chose between options like CONFIG_BLK and CONFIG_SPL_BLK. When TPL appeared, a new SPL_TPL variable was created which expanded to 'SPL_', 'TPL_' or nothing. Later it was updated to support 'VPL_' as well. This series starts a change in terminology and usage to resolve the above issues: - The word 'xPL' is used instead of 'SPL' to mean a non-proper build - A new CONFIG_XPL_BUILD define indicates that the current build is an 'xPL' build - The existing CONFIG_SPL_BUILD is changed to mean SPL; it is not now defined for TPL and VPL phases - The existing SPL_ Makefile variable is renamed to SPL_ - The existing SPL_TPL Makefile variable is renamed to PHASE_ It should be noted that xpl_phase() can generally be used instead of the above CONFIGs without a code-space or run-time penalty. This series does not attempt to convert all of U-Boot to use this new terminology but it makes a start. In particular, renaming spl.h and common/spl seems like a bridge too far at this point. The series is fully bisectable. It has also been checked to ensure there are no code-size changes on any commit.

2024-05-16usb: dwc3: gadget: Disable GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY for End TransferThinh Nguyen
Upstream Linux commit 3aa07f72894d. If there's a disconnection while operating in eSS, there may be a delay in VBUS drop response from the connector. In that case, the internal link state may drop to operate in usb2 speed while the controller thinks the VBUS is still high. The driver must make sure to disable GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY when sending endpoint command while in usb2 speed. The End Transfer command may be called, and only that command needs to go through at this point. Let's keep it simple and unconditionally disable GUSB2PHYCFG.SUSPHY whenever we issue the command. This scenario is not seen in real hardware. In a rare case, our prototype type-c controller/interface may have a slow response triggerring this issue. 2023-09-15board: usb: Replace legacy usb_gadget_handle_interrupts()Marek Vasut
The usb_gadget_handle_interrupts() is no longer used anywhere, replace the remaining uses with dm_usb_gadget_handle_interrupts() which takes udevice as a parameter. Some of the UDC drivers currently ignore the index parameter altogether, those also ignore the udevice and have to be reworked. Other like the dwc3_uboot_handle_interrupt() had to be switched from index to udevice look up to avoid breakage. The documentation for struct phy state that "The content of the structure is managed solely by the PHY API and PHY drivers". Change to use the generic_phy_valid() helper to check if phy is valid. Also remove setting phy->dev to NULL now that generic_phy_get_by_name() properly initialize phy->dev to NULL.
