2025-10-13sandbox: Make SANDBOX_xPL depend on !COMPILE_TESTTom Rini
Given how these options are used in the code, it doesn't make sense to enable them for COMPILE_TEST. Make them depend on !COMPILE_TEST. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <[email protected]>
2025-03-08sandbox: remap memory load addressesSvyatoslav Ryhel
The existing memory layout places the bloblist at 0xb000 and the fdt at 0x100, resulting in a 0xaf00 size constraint for the fdt. This constraint has been reached. Lets modify the layout by moving the bloblist to 0x100, device tree to 0x1000 and placing early memory allocation after pre-console buffer at 0xf4000. This should guarantee sufficient memory allocation for future expansion. Signed-off-by: Svyatoslav Ryhel <[email protected]>
2024-12-31x86: select CONFIG_64BIT for X86_64Andrew Goodbody
Select CONFIG_64BIT so that we pass the -m64 option (instead of -m32) to static analysis tools. Introduce CONFIG_SPL_64BIT and select it for architectures other than x86 with 64 bit builds. Do not select it for x86 builds as x86 uses a 32 bit SPL. Ensure that when limits are set they use CONFIG_64BIT for U-Boot proper and CONFIG_SPL_64BIT for SPL. This is to allow for the 32 bit SPL build used by x86. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Andrew Goodbody <[email protected]>

2022-12-05sandbox: Rework how SDL is enabled / disabledTom Rini
Given that we can use Kconfig logic directly to see if we have a program available on the host or not, change from passing NO_SDL to instead controlling CONFIG_SANDBOX_SDL in Kconfig directly. Introduce CONFIG_HOST_HAS_SDL as the way to test for sdl2-config and default CONFIG_SANDBOX_SDL on if we have that, or not. 2022-10-31test: dm: Add test cases for FWU Metadata uclassSughosh Ganu
Add test cases for accessing the FWU Metadata on the sandbox platform. The sandbox platform also uses the metadata access driver for GPT partitioned block devices. The FWU feature will be tested on the sandbox64 variant with a raw capsule. Remove the FIT capsule testing from sandbox64 defconfig -- the FIT capsule test will be run on the sandbox_flattree variant. 2022-10-29tests: Build correct sandbox configuration on 32bitMichal Suchanek

2022-05-02sandbox: Add a build for VPLSimon Glass
Add an initial VPL build for sandbox. This includes the flow: TPL (with of-platdata) -> VPL -> SPL -> U-Boot To run it: ./tpl/u-boot-tpl -D The -D is needed to get the default device tree, which includes the serial console info. Add a Makefile check for OF_HOSTFILE which is the option that enables devicetree control on sandbox. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <[email protected]>

2020-07-09sandbox: make RAM size configurableHeinrich Schuchardt
Up to now the RAM size of the sandbox is hard coded as 128 MiB. This does not allow testing the correct handling of addresses outside the 32bit range. 128 MiB is also rather small when tracing functions where the trace is written to RAM. Provide configuration variable CONFIG_SANDBOX_RAM_SIZE_MB to set the RAM size in MiB. It defaults to 128 MiB with a minimum of 64 MiB. 2016-07-14sandbox: Add a new sandbox_spl boardSimon Glass
It is useful to be able to build SPL for sandbox. It provides additional build coverage and allows SPL features to be tested in sandbox. However it does not need worthwhile to always create an SPL build. It nearly doubles the build time and the feature is (so far) seldom used. So for now, create a separate build target for sandbox SPL. This allows experimentation with this new feature without impacting existing workflows. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <[email protected]>

2015-04-18dm: select CONFIG_DM* optionsMasahiro Yamada
As mentioned in the previous commit, adding default values in each Kconfig causes problems because it does not co-exist with the "depends on" syntax. (Please note this is not a bug of Kconfig.) We should not do so unless we have a special reason. Actually, for CONFIG_DM*, we have no good reason to do so. Generally, CONFIG_DM is not a user-configurable option. Once we convert a driver into Driver Model, the board only works with Driver Model, i.e. CONFIG_DM must be always enabled for that board. So, using "select DM" is more suitable rather than allowing users to modify it. Another good thing is, Kconfig warns unmet dependencies for "select" syntax, so we easily notice bugs. Actually, CONFIG_DM and other related options have been added without consistency: some into arch/*/Kconfig, some into board/*/Kconfig, and some into configs/*_defconfig. This commit prefers "select" and cleans up the following issues. [1] Never use "CONFIG_DM=n" in defconfig files It is really rare to add "CONFIG_FOO=n" to disable CONFIG options. It is more common to use "# CONFIG_FOO is not set". But here, we do not even have to do it. Less than half of OMAP3 boards have been converted to Driver Model. Adding the default values to arch/arm/cpu/armv7/omap3/Kconfig is weird. Instead, add "select DM" only to appropriate boards, which eventually eliminates "CONFIG_DM=n", etc. [2] Delete redundant CONFIGs Sandbox sets CONFIG_DM in arch/sandbox/Kconfig and defines it again in configs/sandbox_defconfig. Likewise, OMAP3 sets CONFIG_DM arch/arm/cpu/armv7/omap3/Kconfig and defines it also in omap3_beagle_defconfig and devkit8000_defconfig. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <[email protected]>

Now the types of CONFIG_SYS_{ARCH, CPU, SOC, VENDOR, BOARD, CONFIG_NAME} are specified in arch/Kconfig. We can delete the ones in arch and board Kconfig files. 2014-07-30kconfig: add board Kconfig and defconfig filesMasahiro Yamada
This commit adds: - arch/${ARCH}/Kconfig provide a menu to select target boards - board/${VENDOR}/${BOARD}/Kconfig or board/${BOARD}/Kconfig set CONFIG macros to the appropriate values for each board - configs/${TARGET_BOARD}_defconfig default setting of each board (This commit was automatically generated by a conversion script based on boards.cfg) In Linux Kernel, defconfig files are located under arch/${ARCH}/configs/ directory. It works in Linux Kernel since ARCH is always given from the command line for cross compile. But in U-Boot, ARCH is not given from the command line. Which means we cannot know ARCH until the board configuration is done. That is why all the "*_defconfig" files should be gathered into a single directory ./configs/.
