The bootm command can handle the compressed image, but current

To take care of the compressed image, the load address needs
to be passed instead of the original compressed image address.

When booting RISC-V ELF-formatted kernel images (IH_TYPE_KERNEL + IH_OS_ELF),
explicitly pass SMP hart ID (via a0/argc) and DTB address (via a1/argv)
to comply with modern SMP-enabled kernels' boot protocol requirements.

The EFI sub-system needs the load address and not the entry point
to boot the binary passed from the bootm command. The entry point
is derived from the PE-COFF header of the binary.

Pass a pointer to a memory mapped initrd and its size to
efi_binary_run. The EFI stack will register an EFI_LOAD_FILE2_PROTOCOL
for the next boot stage to access this initrd.

The current LMB API's for allocating and reserving memory use a
per-caller based memory view. Memory allocated by a caller can then be
overwritten by another caller. Make these allocations and reservations
persistent using the alloced list data structure.
Two alloced lists are declared -- one for the available(free) memory,
and one for the used memory. Once full, the list can then be extended
at runtime.

Some operating systems (e.g. seL4) and embedded applications are ELF
images. It is convenient to use FIT-images to implement trusted boot.

When bringing in the series 'arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay
Ethernet"' I failed to notice that b4 noticed it was based on next and
so took that as the base commit and merged that part of next to master.
This reverts commit c8ffd1356d42223cbb8c86280a083cc3c93e6426, reversing

Simon Glass <[email protected]> says:
This series continues refactoring the bootm code to allow it to be used
with CONFIG_COMMAND disabled. The OS-handling code is refactored and
a new bootm_run() function is created to run through the bootm stages.
This completes the work.
A booti_go() function is created also, in case it proves useful, but at
last for now standard boot does not use this.
This is cmdd (part d of CMDLINE refactoring)
It depends on dm/bootstda-working
which depends on dm/cmdc-working

Adjust boot_os_fn to use struct bootm_info instead of the separate
argc, argv and image parameters. Update the handlers accordingly. Few
of the functions make use of the arguments, so this improves code size

The normal bootm flow calls bootm_find_other() can call the
BOOTM_STATE_FINDOTHER state as part of its processing. Fix the
condition there so that this hack can be removed.
Also drop the confusing check for the OS type, since do_bootm_tee() is
only called if the condition is met - see bootm_os_get_boot_func()

This has different semantics in different places. Go with the bootm method
and put it in a common function so that the behaviour is consistent in
U-Boot. Update the docs.
To be clear, this changes the way that 'bootelf' and standalone boot
work. Before, if autostart was set to "fred" or "YES", for example, they
would consider that a "yes". This may change behaviour for some boards,
but the only in-tree boards which mention autostart use "no" to disable
it, which will still work.

The last board that used to set CONFIG_LYNXKDI has been removed in
commit 242836a893ae ("powerpc: ppc4xx: remove pcs440ep support"),
doc/README.lynxkdi only talks about a MPC8260 board being supported,
and the mpc8260 support has been removed four years ago in commit
2eb48ff7a210d ("powerpc, 8260: remove support for mpc8260") already,
and common/lynxkdi.c only consists of an "#error" statement these
days, so it seems like the LYNX KDI code is dead code nowadays.
Let's remove it now.

Quite a lot of the code in common/relates to booting and images. Before
adding more it seems like a good time to move the code into its own
directory.
Most files with 'boot' or 'image' in them are moved, except:
- autoboot.c which relates to U-Boot automatically running a script
- bootstage.c which relates to U-Boot timing
Drop the removal of boot* files from the output directory, since this
interfers with the symlinks created by tools and there does not appear
to be any such file from my brief testing.
