9 dayssata: Rework the CMD_SATA and SATA symbolsTom Rini
Today we typically enable CMD_SATA in order to have the SATA functionality itself enabled, despite there being a clean split between the two symbols. This in turn leads to potential configuration problems. Split things so that SATA continues to be separate and not CMD_SATA instead depends, functionally, on AHCI being enabled. To do all of this: - Have X86 select AHCI directly rather than "default y" it later. - Make CMD_SATA be a default y option, given the split of platforms that enabled SATA and did, or did not, enable CMD_SATA. - Change "imply CMD_SATA" to "imply SATA" - Correct TARGET_VEXPRESS64_JUNO because you cannot select SATA_SIL without PCI (and in turn, SATA is needed for SATA_SIL). - Update a number of defconfigs to have no functional change. 2025-06-20env: Rename SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR to ENV_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDRMarek Vasut
Rename the variable and add ENV_ prefix, so that all configuration options which are related to environment would have an CONFIG_ENV_ prefix. No functional change. Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Marek Vasut <[email protected]>

2024-10-18coreboot: Switch to a monospaced fontSimon Glass
The default font is proportional, with different character widths. Select a monospace font for coreboot so that the 'dm tree' output lines up correctly. Update the coreboot tests to match. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <[email protected]>
2024-04-10Merge patch series "Resolve issues with booting distros on x86"Tom Rini
Simon Glass <[email protected]> says: This little series reprises the EFI-video fix, fixes a USB problem and enables a boot script for coreboot. It also moves to truetype fonts for coreboot and qemu-x86, since the menus look much better and there are no strong size constraints. With these changes it is possible to boot a Linux distro automatically with U-Boot on x86, including when U-Boot is the second-stage bootloader.

Truetype fonts look better in the menu, so enable them. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <[email protected]>

2023-09-22x86: coreboot: Enable VIDEO_COPYSimon Glass
At least on modern machines the write-back mechanism for the frame buffer is quite slow when scrolling, since it must read the entire frame buffer and write it back. 2023-09-22x86: coreboot: Enable CONFIG_SYS_NS16550_MEM32Simon Glass
The debug UART on modern machines uses a 32-bit wide transfer. Without this, setting debug output causes a hang or no output. It is not obvious (when enabling CONFIG_DEBUG_UART) that this is needed. Enable 32-bit access to avoid this trap. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Bin Meng <[email protected]>
2023-09-22x86: coreboot: Look for DBG2 UART in SPL tooSimon Glass

2023-07-14disable NFS support by defaultPeter Robinson
While NFS is widely used in data centres, and private networks it's quite a nuanced usecase for device firmware. A lot of devices already disable it. Various network protocols should really be opt in, not opt out, because they add extra size and are potential attack vectors from a security PoV. In the NFS case it doesn't really make sense for a lot of devices like tables, SBCs etc. It's also something we don't really want for SystemReady-IR due to security concerns. 2022-12-22Convert CONFIG_HOSTNAME et al to KconfigTom Rini
This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_GATEWAYIP CONFIG_HOSTNAME CONFIG_IPADDR CONFIG_NETMASK CONFIG_ROOTPATH CONFIG_SERVERIP CONFIG_UBOOTPATH To do this, we introduce a CONFIG_USE_ form of each of the above and change include/env_default.h to test for that to be set before setting a value. Further, we don't want to stringify the IP address related values as they are now properly strings via Kconfig. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <[email protected]>

2020-05-04x86: Add a 64-bit 'coreboot64' buildSimon Glass
Coreboot is a first-stage bootloader mostly used on x86 devices as an alternative to UEFI. Coreboot runs in 32-bit mode. U-Boot currently supports booting from coreboot as a second-stage bootloader, also in 32-bit mode. However it is useful to be able to run U-Boot in 64-bit mode. To do this we can have a 32-bit SPL which switches over the CPU and jumps to a 64-bit U-Boot proper. Add a new 'coreboot64' board for running 64-bit U-Boot from coreboot. This uses binman to create an image with a 32-bit SPL and a 64-bit U-Boot. This allows running 64-bit EFI images on x86, for example, without needing a native U-Boot port for a board.
