2026-04-03sata: Rework the CMD_SATA and SATA symbolsTom Rini
Today we typically enable CMD_SATA in order to have the SATA functionality itself enabled, despite there being a clean split between the two symbols. This in turn leads to potential configuration problems. Split things so that SATA continues to be separate and not CMD_SATA instead depends, functionally, on AHCI being enabled. To do all of this: - Have X86 select AHCI directly rather than "default y" it later. - Make CMD_SATA be a default y option, given the split of platforms that enabled SATA and did, or did not, enable CMD_SATA. - Change "imply CMD_SATA" to "imply SATA" - Correct TARGET_VEXPRESS64_JUNO because you cannot select SATA_SIL without PCI (and in turn, SATA is needed for SATA_SIL). - Update a number of defconfigs to have no functional change. Enable OF_UPSTREAM to use upstream DT and add marvell/ prefix to the DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE for Kirkwood boards. And so we can directly build DTBs from dts/upstream/src/arm/marvell, and including *-u-boot.dtsi files from arch/arm/dts/ directory. Background: The following 2 commands and filters were used in the analysis to determine which upstream DTS and DTSI files can be used as they are, or need to have modified/created *-u-boot.dtsi for u-boot specific implementation, and which board should be opt-out from OF_UPSTREAM. The Zyxel NSA325 board has a USB 3.0 controller attached to the PCIe bus. And the Zyxel NSA310S has an extensive overhaul in bindings and styles in upstream DTS version. - Make all users of CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR reference SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR - Introduce HAS_CUSTOM_SYS_INIT_SP_ADDR to allow for setting the stack pointer directly, otherwise we use the common calculation. - On some platforms that were using the standard calculation but did not set CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_SIZE / CONFIG_SYS_INIT_RAM_ADDR, set them. - On a small number of platforms that were not subtracting GENERATED_GBL_DATA_SIZE do so now via the standard calculation. - CONFIG_SYS_INIT_SP_OFFSET is now widely unused, so remove it from most board config header files. 2022-02-10arm: kirkwood: Dreamplug : Use Marvell uclass mvgbe and PHY driver for EthernetTony Dinh
The Globalscale Technologies Dreamplug board has the network chip Marvell 88E1116R. Use uclass mvgbe and the compatible driver M88E1310 driver to bring up Ethernet. - Currently, CONFIG_RESET_PHY_R symbol is used in arch/arm/mach-kirkwood/include/mach/config.h for all Kirkwood boards with mv8831116 PHY, with each board defines the function reset_phy(). Undefine it for this board. - Add board_eth_init() to use uclass mvgbe to bring up both network port 0 and 1. And remove ad-hoc code. - Enable CONFIG_PHY_MARVELL to properly configure the network. - Add myself as maintainer (this board seems to be orphaned, could not contact Jason Cooper using current email). - Miscellaneous changes: Move constants to .c file and remove header file board/Marvell/dreamplug/dreamplug.h, cleanup comments. CONFIG_SYS_[DI]CACHE_OFF had been partially converted to Kconfig parameters; only for the ARC architecture. This patch turns these two parameters into Kconfig items everywhere else they are found. All of the include/configs/* and defconfig changes in this patch are for arm machines only. The Kconfig changes for arc, nds32, riscv, and xtensa have been included since these symbols are found in code under arch/{arc,nds32,riscv,xtensa}, however, no currently-defined include/configs/* or defconfigs for these architectures exist which include these symbols. These results have been confirmed with tools/moveconfig.py.
