2009-08-09Dual-license IBM code contributionsJosh Boyer
It was brought to our attention that U-Boot contains code derived from the IBM OpenBIOS source code originally provided with some of the older PowerPC 4xx development boards. As a result, the original license of this code has been carried in the various files for a number of years in the U-Boot project. IBM is dual-licensing the IBM code contributions already present in U-Boot under either the terms of the GNU General Public License version 2, or the original code license already present. 2009-07-23unify HOST_CFLAGS and HOSTCFLAGSMike Frysinger
The top build system sets up HOSTCFLAGS a bit and exports it, but other places use HOST_CFLAGS instead. Unify the two as HOSTCFLAGS so that the values stay in sync. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <[email protected]>
2009-04-28Replace __asm references with __asm__Peter Tyser
__asm__ follows gcc's documented syntax and is generally more common than __asm. This change is only asthetic and should not affect functionality. Signed-off-by: Peter Tyser <[email protected]>
2009-03-20npe: get mac address from environmentMike Frysinger
The environment is the canonical storage location of the mac address, so we're killing off the global data location and moving everything to querying the env directly. The resulting code can also be simplified even further. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <[email protected]> CC: Stefan Roese <[email protected]> CC: Ben Warren <[email protected]>

2009-01-31ixp: remove the option to include the MicrocodeJean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD
instead the board will have to load it from flash or ram which will be specified by npe_ucode env var Signed-off-by: Jean-Christophe PLAGNIOL-VILLARD <[email protected]>

2008-05-21Big white-space cleanup.Wolfgang Denk
This commit gets rid of a huge amount of silly white-space issues. Especially, all sequences of SPACEs followed by TAB characters get removed (unless they appear in print statements). Also remove all embedded "vim:" and "vi:" statements which hide indentation problems. Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <[email protected]>

2008-01-18load ixp42x NPE firmware from separate flash block, remove dead codeMichael Schwingen
Hi, the following patch adds support to move the IXP42X NPE firmware to a separate flash block, whose start address is defined in CONFIG_IXP4XX_NPE_EXT_UCODE_BASE. Using that, it is possible to build NPE-enabled u-boot without copyright problems due to the NPE firmware. I hope the patch applies, I get whitespace-related differences in the NPE files due to trailing whitespace in the original versions. 2008-01-10Fix Ethernet init() return codesBen Warren
Change return values of init() functions in all Ethernet drivers to conform to the following: >=0: Success <0: Failure All drivers going forward should return 0 on success. Current drivers that return 1 on success were left as-is to minimize changes. 2007-07-04cpu/ non-mpc*: Augment CONFIG_COMMANDS tests with defined(CONFIG_CMD_*).Jon Loeliger
This is a compatibility step that allows both the older form and the new form to co-exist for a while until the older can be removed entirely. All transformations are of the form: Before: #if (CONFIG_COMMANDS & CFG_CMD_AUTOSCRIPT) After: #if (CONFIG_COMMANDS & CFG_CMD_AUTOSCRIPT) || defined(CONFIG_CMD_AUTOSCRIPT) Signed-off-by: Jon Loeliger <[email protected]>

2006-09-01Add support for a saving build objects in a separate directory.Marian Balakowicz
Modifications are based on the linux kernel approach and support two use cases: 1) Add O= to the make command line 'make O=/tmp/build all' 2) Set environement variable BUILD_DIR to point to the desired location 'export BUILD_DIR=/tmp/build' 'make' The second approach can also be used with a MAKEALL script 'export BUILD_DIR=/tmp/build' './MAKEALL' Command line 'O=' setting overrides BUILD_DIR environent variable. When none of the above methods is used the local build is performed and the object files are placed in the source directory.
