2024-08-19clk: mediatek: mt7986: rename TOPCKGEN factor clock to upstream namingChristian Marangi
Rename TOPCKGEN factor clock to upstream neaming. Upstream kernel linux reference the factor clock for apmixedpll with the "pll" suffix. Align the naming to the upstream naming format in preparation for OF_UPSTREAM support. Also rename rtc clock to drop the CB_ as upstream doesn't have that. 2024-08-19clk: mediatek: mt7988: replace clock ID with upstream linuxChristian Marangi
Replace infracfg clk ID with upstream linux version. The same format is used here with the factor first, then mux and then gates. To correctly reference the gates in clk_gate function, define the gates_offs value in clk_tree now that they are at an offset from mux and factor. Drop any comment that reference the clock ID as we now have a 1:1 match with upstream kernel linux. Signed-off-by: Christian Marangi <[email protected]>

2024-08-09rockchip: Use files from dts/upstreamJonas Karlman
Most Rockchip aarch64 targets have now migrated to use OF_UPSTREAM, however a few of the old dtsi and dt-bindings files still remain. Remove the remaining px30/rk3326 soc dtsi and dt-bindings to ensure the files from dts/upstream is used. The gpio-ranges props is moved to u-boot.dtsi files and a ethernet0 alias is added to px30-firefly, they are missing in the dts/upstream files. No changes are expected with this. The clock definitions in <dt-bindings/clock/r8a779?-clock.h> were superseded by those in <dt-bindings/clock/r8a779?-cpg-mssr.h> a long time ago. In fact U-Boot never used <dt-bindings/clock/r8a779?-clock.h>. The unused headers, their replacements, and the corresponding r8a779?.dtsi files were introduced together in U-Boot v2018.03. 2024-06-24dt-bindings: imx: Drop redundant imports with dts/upstreamSumit Garg
Drop redundant header imports with dts/upstream already providing updated headers which have been checked to be backwards compatibility. The imx headers which aren't present in dts/upstream are as follows: - include/dt-bindings/clock/imxrt1020-clock.h - include/dt-bindings/clock/imx8qm-clock.h - include/dt-bindings/clock/imxrt1170-clock.h - include/dt-bindings/clock/imx8qxp-clock.h - include/dt-bindings/memory/imxrt-sdram.h - include/dt-bindings/pinctrl/pads-imx8qxp.h - include/dt-bindings/pinctrl/pads-imx8qm.h - include/dt-bindings/soc/imx8_pd.h - include/dt-bindings/soc/imx_rsrc.h hence these aren't dropped yet but there was an unused header: - include/dt-bindings/pinctrl/pins-imx8mq.h which has been dropped as well. There shouldn't be any funtional impact with this change but it rather allows iMX platforms to use upstream dt-bindings headers in a backwards compatible manner. 2024-05-28arm: exynos: Migrate E850-96 board to OF_UPSTREAMSam Protsenko
Use upstream device tree files and bindings. To do so: - imply (enable) OF_UPSTREAM option for E850-96 target - point DEFAULT_DEVICE_TREE in E850-96 config to upstream dts - remove now not needed local dts files, binding docs and headers - update MAINTAINERS and board/samsung/e850-96/MAINTAINERS correspondingly Upstream device tree files for Exynos850 SoC and E850-96 board are pretty much the same as local (removed) ones, so the conversion is rather straightforward and painless in this case. The appended dts file (arch/arm/dts/exynos850-e850-96-u-boot.dtsi) stays unchanged. The only remaining local dt-bindings doc for E850-96 board is exynos-pmu.yaml. It wasn't removed as it's quite different from Linux kernel version. Particularly U-Boot local version of exynos-pmu.yaml describes "samsung,uart-debug-1" property, which is not present in Linux kernel binding. Later it might be upstreamed to Linux kernel, and once it's done the U-Boot exynos-pmu.yaml binding can be removed. No functional change. 2024-05-07Merge patch series "arm: Add Analog Devices SC5xx Machine Type"Tom Rini
Greg Malysa <[email protected]> says: This series adds support for the ADI SC5xx machine type and includes two core drivers that are required for being able to boot any board--a UART driver, the gptimer driver which is used as a clock reference (CNTVCNT is not supported on the armv7 sc5xx SoCs) and the clock tree driver. Our corresponding Linux support relies on u-boot configuring the clocks correctly before booting, so it is not possible to boot any board without the CGU/CDU configuration happening here. There are also no board files, device trees, or defconfigs included here, but some common definitions that will be used to build board files currently are. The sc5xx SoCs themselves include many armv7 families (sc57x, sc58x, and sc594) all using an ARM Cortex-A5, and one armv8 family (sc598) indended to be a drop-in replacement for the SC594 in terms of peripherals, with a Cortex-A55 instead. Some of the configuration code in dmcinit and clkinit is quite scary and causes a lot of checkpatch violations. It is modified from code initially provided by ADI, but it has not been fully rewritten. There's a question of how important it is to clean up this code--it has some quality violations, but it has been in use (including in production) for over two years and is known to work for performing the low level SoC initialization, while a rewrite might introduce timing or sequence bugs that could take a significant amount of time to detect in the future.
