This patch fixes a boot failure on the AM64x EVM that was introduced when the do_board_detect function was removed during a refactoring.
It restores the do_board_detect function for the AM64x, AM62x, and AM65x boards to ensure the common board detection logic is executed correctly.

Replace the board-specific implementation of do_board_detect()
with a call to the generic do_board_detect_am6() function to
avoid code duplication across AM6x family boards.
The generic function provides the same functionality with
additional fallback logic to try alternate EEPROM addresses.

Unlike other K3 SoC's, am65 SoC has the capability to detect daughter
cards and automatically generate a list of white-space separated overlays
in name_overlays environment variable.
When applied during boot with get_overlay_mmc, the path to overlays with
default distribution is incorrect where path is currently: boot/dtb and
the overlays exist in boot/dtb/ti.
Fix the path in get_overlay_mmc so that overlays are automatically applied
correctly during boot time.

Commit 86acdce2ba88 ("common: add config for board_init() call")
introduced CONFIG_BOARD_INIT option. This option can be disabled for the
boards where board_init() function is not needed. Remove empty
board_init() calls for all boards where it's possible, and disable
CONFIG_BOARD_INIT in all related defconfigs.
This cleanup was made semi-automatically using these scripts: [1].
No functional change, but the binary size for the modified boards is
reduced a bit.

The write_host_id is the last element here and order does matter. This
may have gone unnoticed before as by default all elements are 0, but
if this is updated to a different host, it will not work. Update
the order so write_host_id is the last element in all current secure
board configs.

size when ECC is enabled
As there are few redundant functions in board/ti/*/evm.c files, pull
them to a common location of access to reuse and include the common file
to access the functions.
Call k3-ddrss driver through fixup_ddr_driver_for_ecc() to fixup the
device tree and resize the available amount of DDR, if ECC is enabled.
Otherwise, fixup the device tree using the regular
fdt_fixup_memory_banks().
Also call dram_init_banksize() after every call to
fixup_ddr_driver_for_ecc() is made so that gd->bd is populated
correctly.
Ensure that fixup_ddr_driver_for_ecc() is agnostic to the number of DDR
controllers present.

Currently each set of board targets from a vendor is selected inside
the board directory for that vendor. This has the problem of multiple
targets, one from each vendor, being selectable at the same time.
For instance you can select both TARGET_AM654_A53_EVM and
TARGET_IOT2050_A53 in the same build.
To fix this we need to move the target board choice to a common location
for each parent SoC selection. Do this in arch/arm/mach-k3.

Currently the K3 selection for TARGET boards does not depend on the SoC
for which it is based. This leds to the odd ability to select for instance
both SOC_K3_AM625 and TARGET_J721E_A72_EVM.
To fix this the target choice should depend on the matching SOC config.

The MSMC fixup is something we do based on SoC, not based on the board.
So this fixup does not belong in the board files. Move this to the
mach-k3 common file so that it does not have to be done in each board
that uses these SoCs.
We use ft_system_setup() here instead of ft_board_setup() since it is no
longer board level. Enable OF_SYSTEM_SETUP in the configurations that use

It has been observed that setting SERDES0 lane mux to USB prevents USB 2.0
operation on USB0. Setting SERDES0 lane mux to non-USB when USB0 is used in
USB 2.0 only mode solves this issue. However, for USB3.0+2.0 operation this
issue is not present.

The DT nodes on AM65x SoCs currently use a node name "interconnect" for
the various interconnects. This name is not following the DT schema, and
should simply be "bus". Update the fdt fixup logic to use both the
current and the expected corrected path names so that this logic won't
be broken with newer kernels.
The logic also corrects the crypto node name as the DT node
unit-addresses are all expected to be lower case.

The Linux coding style guide (Documentation/process/coding-style.rst)
clearly says:
It's a **mistake** to use typedef for structures and pointers.
Besides, using typedef for structures is annoying when you try to make
headers self-contained.
Let's say you have the following function declaration in a header:
void foo(bd_t *bd);
This is not self-contained since bd_t is not defined.
To tell the compiler what 'bd_t' is, you need to include <asm/u-boot.h>
#include <asm/u-boot.h>
void foo(bd_t *bd);
Then, the include direcective pulls in more bloat needlessly.
If you use 'struct bd_info' instead, it is enough to put a forward
declaration as follows:
struct bd_info;
void foo(struct bd_info *bd);
Right, typedef'ing bd_t is a mistake.
I used coccinelle to generate this commit.
The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows:
<smpl>
@@
typedef bd_t;
@@
-bd_t
+struct bd_info
</smpl>
