If CONFIG_OF_PLATDATA=y , then the udevice has no valid OF node associated
with it and ofnode_valid(node) evaluates to 0. The dev_read_u32_default()
call ultimately reaches ofnode_read_u32_index() which invokes fdt_getprop()
and passes result of ofnode_to_offset(node) as an offset parameter into it.
The ofnode_to_offset(node) returns -1 for invalid node, which leads to an
fdt_getprop(..., -1, ...) invocation, which will crash sandbox with SIGSEGV
because libfdt can not handle negative node offsets without full tree check,
which U-Boot inhibits to keep size lower.
Since i2c_child_post_bind() already calls dev_has_ofnode(dev), reuse the
same call and assign i2c->speed_hz = I2C_SPEED_STANDARD_RATE in case the
device has no valid node associated with it, and do not call any of the
dev_read_*() functions for devices without valid nodes.

The i2c_chip_of_to_plat() is called only from i2c_child_post_bind(),
inline i2c_chip_of_to_plat() into i2c_child_post_bind(). Drop the
if CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(OF_REAL) and depend on if (!dev_has_ofnode(dev))
which does check CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(OF_REAL) internally too.

Current code use dm_gpio_get_value() to get SDA and SCL value, and the
value depends on whether DTS file config the GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW. In ususal
case for i2c GPIO, DTS need to set GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW for SCL/SDA pins. So
here the logic is not correct.
And we must not use GPIOD_ACTIVE_LOW in client code include the
dm_gpio_set_dir_flags(), it is DTS's responsibility for this flag. So
remove GPIOD_ACTIVE_LOW here.

The size of the dynamic stack allocation here is bounded by the if()
statement. However, just allocating the maximum size up-front and
doing malloc() if necessary avoids code duplication (the
i2c_setup_offset() until the invocation of ->xfer), and generates much
better (smaller) code:
bloat-o-meter drivers/i2c/i2c-uclass.o.{0,1}
add/remove: 0/0 grow/shrink: 0/1 up/down: 0/-144 (-144)
Function old new delta
dm_i2c_write 552 408 -144
Total: Before=3828, After=3684, chg -3.76%
It also makes static analysis of maximum stack usage (using the .su
files that are automatically generated during build) easier if there
are no lines saying "dynamic".
[This is not entirely equivalent to the existing code; this now uses
the stack for len <= 64 rather than len <= 63, but that seems like a
more natural limit.]

This construct is quite long-winded. In earlier days it made some sense

The 'u-boot,i2c-transaction-bytes' device tree property provides
information regarding number of bytes transferred by a device in a
single transaction.
This change is necessary to avoid hanging devices after soft reset.
One notable example is communication with MC34708 device:
1. Reset when communicating with MC34708 via I2C.
2. The u-boot (after reboot -f) tries to setup the I2C and then calls
force_idle_bus. In the same time MC34708 still has some data to be sent
(as it transfers data in 24 bits chunks).
3. The force_idle_bus() is not able to make the bus idle as 8 SCL
clocks may be not enough to have the full transmission.
4. We end up with I2C inconsistency with MC34708.
This PMIC device requires 24+ SCL cycles to make finish any pending I2C
transmission.

When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and
there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the
area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it
with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the
Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first
line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line)
and with slightly different comment styles than us.
In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility
and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style.
This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared
license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag
contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag
and have introduced one.
