2026-03-18Merge patch series "led: remove legacy API"Tom Rini
Quentin Schulz <[email protected]> says: This migrates the last user of the legacy LED API, IMX233-OLinuXino and net/bootp.c, to the modern LED framework. I do have concern about being able to use BOOTP in SPL? In which case, I should probably add an additional check on CONFIG_IS_ENABLED(LED) in addition to IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_LED_BOOT)? I haven't tested this as I do not own an IMX233-OLinuXino, so please give this a try if you own this device. Then, since there's no user left of this legacy API, it is entirely removed. 2026-03-18led: remove legacy APIQuentin Schulz
No user of the legacy LED API anymore (except Sunxi with the PinePhone but that is now a Sunxi-specific implementation), so let's remove anything related. Signed-off-by: Quentin Schulz <[email protected]>
2025-12-05led: remove support for red LED in legacy APIQuentin Schulz
To the exception of red_led_on in the arm-specific assembly code, all code interacting with the red status LED was guarded by the CONFIG_LED_STATUS_RED symbol, which is enabled in none of the upstream defconfigs. Since the last board which overrode the weak red_led_on function got migrated to the new LED mechanism, there's also no user of the arm-specific assembly code anymore, therefore it can be removed along the other unreachable code sections. 2025-12-05led: remove support for green status led in legacy APIQuentin Schulz
The last user of it was removed in a previous commit so let's remove its support entirely. Signed-off-by: Quentin Schulz <[email protected]> Reviewed-by: Heiko Schocher <[email protected]>
2025-12-05led: remove coloured_LED_init, yellow and blue status LEDs in legacy APIQuentin Schulz
The last user of coloured_LED_init has been recently removed, so we can remove all places it's called and defined as it does nothing now. Nobody makes use of the yellow and blue status LEDs from the legacy API, so let's remove all references to it. Signed-off-by: Quentin Schulz <[email protected]>
2024-05-20Restore patch series "arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet"Tom Rini
As part of bringing the master branch back in to next, we need to allow for all of these changes to exist here. Reported-by: Jonas Karlman <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <[email protected]>
2024-05-19Revert "Merge patch series "arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet""Tom Rini
When bringing in the series 'arm: dts: am62-beagleplay: Fix Beagleplay Ethernet"' I failed to notice that b4 noticed it was based on next and so took that as the base commit and merged that part of next to master. This reverts commit c8ffd1356d42223cbb8c86280a083cc3c93e6426, reversing changes made to 2ee6f3a5f7550de3599faef9704e166e5dcace35. 2024-05-07misc: Remove <common.h> and add needed includesTom Rini
Remove <common.h> from this driver directory and when needed add missing include files directly. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <[email protected]>
2023-01-20global: Finish CONFIG -> CFG migrationTom Rini
At this point, the remaining places where we have a symbol that is defined as CONFIG_... are in fairly odd locations. While as much dead code has been removed as possible, some of these locations are simply less obvious at first. In other cases, this code is used, but was defined in such a way as to have been missed by earlier checks. Perform a rename of all such remaining symbols to be CFG_... rather than CONFIG_... 2017-01-21status_led: Kconfig migrationUri Mashiach
Move all of the status LED feature to drivers/led/Kconfig. The LED status definitions were moved from the board configuration files to the defconfig files. TBD: Move all of the definitions in the include/status_led.h to the relevant board's defconfig files. Tested boards: CL-SOM-AM57x, CM-T335 Signed-off-by: Uri Mashiach <[email protected]>
2015-10-23add generic stubs for GPIO LEDsBernhard Nortmann
For boards that support LEDs driven via GPIO (CONFIG_GPIO_LED), it may be useful to have some generic stubs (wrapper functions) for the "colored" LEDs. This allows defining STATUS_LED_* values directly to GPIO numbers, e.g.: #define STATUS_LED_GREEN 248 /* = PH24 */ To keep those optional, it's probably best to introduce an additional configuration setting. I've chosen CONFIG_GPIO_LED_STUBS for that. Placing the code in drivers/misc/gpio_led.c also ensures that it automatically depends on CONFIG_GPIO_LED too. 2013-11-25gpio_led: add support for inverted polarityIgor Grinberg
Some GPIO connected LEDs have inverted polarity. Introduce new config option: CONFIG_GPIO_LED_INVERTED_TABLE for the specifying the inverted GPIO LEDs list and add support for this in the gpio_led driver. Signed-off-by: Igor Grinberg <[email protected]> Tested-by: Ilya Ledvich <[email protected]>
2013-11-25gpio_led: check gpio_request() return valueIgor Grinberg
Add a check for the gpio_request() function return value and do not try to configure the GPIO if the gpio_request() call fails. Also, print an error message indicating the gpio_request() has failed. Signed-off-by: Igor Grinberg <[email protected]> Tested-by: Ilya Ledvich <[email protected]>

This patch adds the gpio usage request. The polarity is changed to positive as suggested by Mike Frysinger. Signed-off-by: Thomas Chou <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Scott McNutt <[email protected]>
