2026-03-30core: Rework REGMAP symbols implementationTom Rini
As exposed by "make randconfig", we have an issue with the dependencies for REGMAP (and xPL variants). As this is a library function, it should always be selected and not depended on by other functionality. This is largely done correctly today, so just correct the few outliers. 2025-06-11mmc: Kconfig: Really correct dependencies SDHCI ADMA optionsTom Rini
When doing the investigation for commit 53bb8fdea12a ("mmc: Kconfig: Correct dependencies SDHCI ADMA options") I missed the implications of MMC_SDHCI_ADMA_HELPERS. The problem is that FSL_ESDHC via the FSL_ESDHC_SUPPORT_ADMA2 option will also enable these helper functions. This in turn means the correct dependency here is MMC_SDHCI_ADMA_HELPERS and not *MMC_SDHCI_ADMA. Reported-by: Heiko Thiery <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <[email protected]>

The option MMC_SDHCI_ADMA_FORCE_32BIT is only tested or used when MMC_SDHCI_ADMA or SPL_MMC_SDHCI_ADMA is enabled. 2025-01-20blk: Make block subsystems select BLKTom Rini
The BLK symbol has a few meanings, one of which is that it controls the driver model portion of a "block device". Rather than having this hidden symbol be "default y if ..." it should be select'd by the various block subsystems. Symbols such as PVBLOCK which already select'd BLK are unchanged". 2025-01-20drivers/mmc/Kconfig: Make DM_MMC a hidden symbolTom Rini
At this point in time, DM is always enabled. So if MMC is enabled, it should select DM_MMC. No drivers need to depend on DM_MMC being enabled now, so remove that from dependency lists. This now means that a number of platforms which select'd DM_MMC need to select MMC instead. This also fixes a migration problem with espresso7420 in that MMC is built again with the platform. 2024-10-14lib: Adapt digest header files to MbedTLSRaymond Mao
Adapt digest header files to support both original libs and MbedTLS by switching on/off MBEDTLS_LIB_CRYPTO. Introduce <alg>_LEGACY kconfig for legacy hash implementations. sha256.o should depend on SHA256 kconfig only but not SUPPORT_EMMC_RPMB, SHA256 should be selected when SUPPORT_EMMC_RPMB is enabled instead. `IS_ENABLED` or `CONFIG_IS_ENABLED` is not applicable here, since including <linux/kconfig.h> causes undefined reference on schedule() with sandbox build, as <linux/kconfig.h> includes <generated/autoconf.h> which enables `CONFIG_HW_WATCHDOG` and `CONFIG_WATCHDOG` but no schedule() are defined in sandbox build, Thus we use `#if defined(CONFIG_MBEDTLS_LIB_CRYPTO)` instead. 2024-04-26mmc: Support 32-bit only ADMA on 64-bit platformsGreg Malysa
Some arm64 platforms may include SDIO host controllers that only support 32-bit ADMA. While the Linux kernel detects which size is supported and adjusts the descriptor size used dynamically, the previous u-boot implementation statically selected between the two depending on whether DMA_ADDR_T_64BIT was defined. Because the static selection is already in place and effective for most platforms, this patch logically separates "64 bit addresses are used for DMA on this platform" and "64 bit addresses are used by the SDIO host controller for ADMA" in order to support the small number of platforms where these statements are not equivalent. Using 32 bits is opt-in and existing 64 bit platforms should be unaffected by this change. The PL180/MMCI driver is implied to use CONFIG_DM and the ARM defconfigs such as configs/vexpress_ca9x4_defconfig will get it as well. With a simple oneline to default to not being the v2 variant, the original ARM MMCI variant works fine with the driver as well. The IP version actually needs to be read out from a register on the ARM versions, but we will simply assume we are running on the original hardware if arm,primecell-periphid is not explicitly specified in the device tree. 2022-07-06mmc/aspeed: Probe from controllerJoel Stanley
The Aspeed SDHCI controller is arranged with some shared control registers, followed by one or two sets of actual SDHCI registers. Adjust the driver to probe this controller device first. The driver then wants to iterate over the child nodes to probe the SDHCI proper: ofnode node; dev_for_each_subnode(node, parent) { struct udevice *dev; int ret; ret = device_bind_driver_to_node(parent, "aspeed_sdhci", ofnode_get_name(node), node, &dev); if (ret) return ret; } However if we did this the sdhci driver would probe twice; once "naturally" from the device tree and a second time due to this code. Instead of doing this we can rely on the probe order, where the controller will be set up before the sdhci devices. A better solution is preferred.
