2025-11-29mx7ulp_evk: Stop disabling device tree relocationTom Rini
Remove setting of fdt_high to ~0, which disables device tree relocation, from the default environment. Doing so prevents U-Boot from correcting problems such as having an unaligned device tree and leads to various failure modes in the OS. 2021-09-07arm: Disable ATAGs supportTom Rini
With the exceptions of ds109, ds414, icnova-a20-swac, nokia_rx51 and stemmy, disable ATAG support. A large number of platforms had enabled support but never supported a kernel so old as to require it. Further, some platforms are old enough to support both, but are well supported by devicetree booting, and have been for a number of years. This is because some of the ATAGs related functions have been re-used to provide the same kind of information, but for devicetree or just generally to inform the user. When needed still, rename these functions to get_board_revision() instead, to avoid conflicts. In other cases, these functions were simply unused, so drop them. 2021-08-31Finish converting CONFIG_SYS_CACHELINE_SIZE to KconfigTom Rini
We move the SYS_CACHE_SHIFT_N options from arch/arm/Kconfig to arch/Kconfig, and introduce SYS_CACHE_SHIFT_4 to provide a size of 16. Introduce select statements for other architectures based on current usage. For MIPS, we take the existing arch-specific symbol and migrate to the generic symbol. This lets us remove a little bit of otherwise unused code. 2019-01-19Kconfig: Migrate BOUNCE_BUFFERPhilipp Tomsich
The bounce buffer is used by a few drivers (most of the MMC drivers) to overcome limitations in their respective DMA implementation. This moves the configuration to Kconfig and makes it user-selectable (even though it will be a required feature to make those drivers work): the expected usage is for drivers depending on this to 'select' it unconditionally from their respective Kconfig (see follow-up patches). This commit includes a full migration using moveconfig.py to ensure that each commit compiles. To ensure bisectability we update dependencies of various drivers to now select BOUNCE_BUFFER when needed. 2018-05-07SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini
When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. 2018-04-28arm: move SYS_ARCH_TIMER to KConfigAndre Przywara
SYS_ARCH_TIMER guards the usage of the ARM Generic Timer (aka arch timer) in U-Boot. At the moment it is mandatory for ARMv8 and used by a few ARMv7 boards. Add a proper Kconfig symbol to express this dependency properly, allowing certain board configuration to later disable arch timer in case there are any problems with it. They're also sometimes used for things not directly inside of the serial driver. First, introduce a new symbol to guard the use of CONFIG_CONS_INDEX, so that in the case where we don't need this for the serial driver, but for some other use, we can still do it. Next, consolidate all of these into the single entry in drivers/serial/Kconfig. Finally, introduce CONS_INDEX_[023456] so that we can imply a correct value here to make the defconfig side of this smaller. This commit removes definitions of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE defined to be equal to CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE in numerous configuration files. We remove such definitions in two situations: - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is otherwise not defined in the board configuration file, which means the default value of CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE == 256 applies. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common/image.c) is suitable, as it is larger. - CONFIG_SYS_CBSIZE is defined in the board configuration file, but to a value equal or less than 512. In this case, the default value of CONFIG_SYS_BARGSIZE == 512 (common.image.c) is suitable, as it is equal or larger. This converts the following to Kconfig: CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_NAND CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_UBI CONFIG_ENV_IS_NOWHERE In fact this already exists for sunxi as a 'choice' config. However not all the choices are available in Kconfig yet so we cannot use that. It would lead to more than one option being set. In addition, one purpose of this series is to allow the environment to be stored in more than one place. So the existing choice is converted to a normal config allowing each option to be set independently. There are not many opportunities for Kconfig updates to reduce the size of this patch. This was tested with ./tools/moveconfig.py -i CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN_MMC And then manual updates. This is because for CHAIN_OF_TRUST boards they can only have ENV_IS_NOWHERE set, so we enforce that via Kconfig logic now.
